Candidates must demonstrate extensive social media experience.  This means that the person is
actively participating in a wide variety of social media activities such as blogging, community
development and management, social bookmarking, commenting, etc. and is well-connected with the
broader social media world.  The second important part is that the candidate must be able to think
strategically and be willing and able to work to help implement the programs. Responsibilities may
include: Create a comprehensive social media strategy to define programs that use social media
marketing techniques to increase visibility, membership and traffic across all XYZ brands and
implement and manage social media programs. Establish new alternative ways to leverage social
media activities (“marketing R&D”) Monitor trends in social media tools, trends and applications and
appropriately apply that knowledge to increasing the use of social media. Implement new strategies
and educate the management team and others across the company on incorporating relevant social
media techniques into the corporate culture and into all of the company’s products and services.
Measure the impact of social media on the overall marketing efforts.

Multimedia Designer
A multimedia designer uses art, sound and design skills to create video, audio and animated images.
His or her job requires imagination and creativity coupled with technical expertise in applying a wide
range of software applications. He or she normally works in a creative industry, such as computer or
Web marketing, film making or television. His or her graphics, audio and animation skills are also
commonly applied in the fields of education, advertising and software design.

Online Editor
Is an individual that have skills in a wide variety of software programs that do web content editing and
that is designed for individual file creation and editing is often an online tool. It may be designed for
creating and editing music, screen captures, audio, vector images, PNGs, or Flash®. The features
vary with the type of content, so, for example, a music editor may allow the user to create tracks using
a variety of instruments, adjust tempo and beats per measure, and control volume. With pitched
instruments, samples of distinct pitches may be offered by certain tools, and the user can solo or
mute tracks. With a web content editor for images, on the other hand, a skilled Online Editor will have
the ability to import an image or to create an image using drawing tools such as shapes, lines, and
brushes, with a greater or lesser tool selection being available, depending on the program. Color and
pattern selection, too, may be limited or broad.  An online editor must be familiar with at least a few
software languages such as html or other languages. The more languages he or she knows the
better.   

Website Content Manager
A website content manager is responsible for keeping the content up to date, incorporating blogs,
newsletters, and other tools to encourage customers to return to the site multiple times. There is no
specific training program required to become a content coordinator. However, most firms require
candidates with excellent written communication skills, organization, and some understanding of
website technologies.

Flash®  Animator
A Flash® animator creates interactive multimedia and animated works through the use of a computer
application called Flash®. Flash® is a program that allows an animator to create self-contained
animated pieces that can simply be viewed or can involve interaction with a viewer. These types of
animations are often popular on websites and most work done by a Flash® animator will be found on
the Internet, though a few television and feature length programs have been created through Flash®.

Web Content Copy Writer
A web copywriter or writer is a person who writes sales copy for the Internet. This can include direct
pitch sales, content writing, and other things. In a more extensive definition these copywriters are
basically responsible for creating sales through their words and using words to increase traffic to
websites. The qualifications it takes to become a web copywriter may vary. Some people have
experience writing offline ad copy. Others are just strong writers with a gift of gab that can translate
into generating traffic and increasing customer interest. Many people are native speakers of the
language in which they write, and have training in fields like marketing, journalism, or literature. This
training or skills has to be paired with things people know about marketing via the Internet, and there
are many places to learn how write specifically for the web.

Digital Producer
A digital producer may possess design skills and creative experience that parallel those of a
multimedia designer, a webmaster, or a graphic designer, which qualifies their ability to supervise a
multifaceted project. A successful producer will oversee the progress, the quality, and the quantity of
digital media created by multiple designers in a team. For example, a complex website project that
may require graphics, animation

Multimedia Artist
A multimedia artist creates work which spans multiple media, usually with a focus on the integration of
electronic media. Multimedia and mixed media are sometimes confused, but multimedia is a bit
broader in scope, and tends to be more dynamic in nature. Multimedia artists can be found working in
a variety of settings, including art schools, galleries, and their own studios. They may collaborate with
other artists on projects, or focus on developing a project independently from start to finish including
web design projects.

Project Manager
A project management professional (PMP) is a highly-regarded career designation certified by the
Project Management Institute (PMI). The project management professional designation ensures
standardized methodologies for all persons with the PMP designation in all parts of the world. A
certified project management professional is crucial in the selection, development, execution, and
completion of business projects in many different industries.

Online Media Specialist
Responsible for all new media communications, including but not limited to content, functionality,
scheduling and execution. Establishing and running an agenda and message. Leading regular
communications, monitoring and guaranteeing the overall technical performance, maintenance, and
development of websites and other outreach platforms. Maintaining new media tools that follow best
practices, security measures, and top performance. Interpreting and reporting various site statistics
on a regular basis, and using these results to improve traffic and the effectiveness of the new media
tools' content and outreach efforts. Update, maintain and develop website, email, blogging, video, text
messaging, and other new media initiatives. Investigate ways in which the organization can use the
Internet and other new media tools to broaden and strengthen the organization's reach and
presence. Manage, develop, maintain, and expand websites, archives, and outreach tools. Evaluate,
troubleshoot, and maintain website functionality and appearance. Interpret and report site statistics
on a regular basis, and make recommendations for improving traffic and the effectiveness of site.
Manage and maintain databases and servers. Ensure most efficient workflows and processes for all
new media initiatives. Coordinate with other senior staff on programs, strategy and projects.  In
addition Online Media Specialist may require the following:  Exceptional communication and
organizational skills.  Advanced knowledge of Drupal CMS. Experience with e-CRM, or e-Constituent
Relationship Management software, platforms, and online action tools. Technical proficiency in day-to-
day site administration or design and experience in getting results through vendors or contractors.  
Knowledge of web analytics software and metrics. Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced,
deadline-driven environment, and superior attention to detail. Basic Adobe Photoshop skills.  
Experience and skills with PHP, HTML, XHTML, CSS, and JavaScript plus MySQL or similar programs.
Graphic design skills. Capability with Flash and interactive development. Experience with audio and
video editing and posting

Web analyst’s areas of responsibility are: creating data entry procedures, managing data integrity,
system security, and data analysis. A web analyst is skilled at both the user interface and the
database structure behind a website. Web analytics is a newly developing field that has emerged to
meet a growing need. As more companies invest significant financial and staff resources into the
development of websites and related tools, analysis is required to determine the cost/benefits, ideal
usage, and effectiveness of these tools.

Website Designer
A web designer creates websites for companies and individuals. These designers are often called
upon to use a variety of skills, such as computer programming, graphic design, and sometimes
copywriting. Web design also requires creators to balance aesthetics, usability, and client demands.
A professional web designer is often called upon, by a client, to create a website. This process
typically begins with a production meeting, in which the client’s expectations are discussed. The site’s
color, layout, content, and graphics may be topics of conversation in this consultation. Often, these
meetings are useful for the web designer to get an idea of the client’s needs, goals, and brand image
